Workhorse Irons Dot Box

Small batch of Workhorse Dot Boxes now available!! After many requests we decided to do another small batch of these. Originally we made Dot Boxes about 10 years ago using Pulse Width Modulation to create intermittent power bursts for dot work. But we stopped making them after a few years when some others copied the design and outsourced overseas to make a cheap knock off version. 

This has been a fun side project we have been working on to help turn any coil machine into a dot machine for making Dotwork Tattoos using controlled intermittent power bursts. The Dot Box is simple and easy to use! It works in-line and plugs directly into your power supply in the clip cord hole and has a range of speed controlled by simply turning the delay knob.

Yes, there are many ways to do dots and if you have a strategy that works well for you already, more power to you! Our Dot Box is just a different approach, and if nothing else, a fun tool to play with, enjoy!

For Best Performance:

• The Dot Box works best with medium or slow, hard hitting liners....or any shader
• Quick and zippy light hitting machines are not as effective
• Best dots are made using Tight Rounds....Loose Rounds seem to blow out a little bit
• Some machines need to be turned up a Volt or two for better results
• Not recommended for use with Rotary machines...use with Rotary machines can damage the motor
• Timing of the tattoo machine when in use with the Dot Box will create various rhythms and patterns, adjust voltage and Dot Box Delay for varying performance and effect
• Match hand speed to the intermittent power bursts to ensure clean dot patterns.... if the Dot Box is at a slow setting you will need to move slower, fast setting move faster (duh).

*this is not a power supply, you will still need a power supply, the dot box simply plugs into your power supply.

After many years of discussion, some back and forth, and a few prototypes, our Tattoo Machine Tool Roll is here, and we couldn't be happier with the way they turned out!

Made locally by our friends at Sidnaw Company (formerly Mercy Supply), these Tool Rolls are made for use with the tools most artists use to maintain their tattoo machines. Designed for organization, versatility, and built for durability. Inside there are multiple slots and a large, gusseted pocket with an internal zippered front, plus two smaller button pockets for small parts and hardware. The body is made with 20oz waxed canvas.

Care:

• Our waxed canvas is simply a duck canvas with wax-impregnated cotton yarns. This results in a fabric that’s as strong as duck canvas with an added layer of protection against water, wind and agitation.

  Waxed canvas bags and garments can be used for months (even years) without requiring care. When caring for waxed canvas, avoid machine washing and submerging in water. Spot cleaning or hosing off the product is recommended. Hang dry only. Re-wax after prolonged use with an all-natural fabric wax to maintain weather resistance.
