KYŌDAI SOFT-TIP Brush Pen

The Kyodai Brush Pen, also known as a fudepen (筆ペン), combines surgical-grade pigment with the flow and control of traditional fudepens. Its brush-like tip glides effortlessly across skin, giving artists smoother ink flow, better coverage, and precise control for calligraphy, freehand stencils, or detailed linework.

The SOFT-TIP felt brush pen boasts a supple and pliable tip made from a softer, more flexible felt material. This characteristic provides a smooth and fluid drawing experience, allowing the pen to adapt to varying pressure for expressive strokes. The soft felt tip enables a broader range of line thickness, making it well-suited for creating calligraphy and controlling line thickness.

Dan Kubin V3/24 Sidewinder!

Highlights:

• Black Brass Frame with Black Hardware (*Finish may vary)

• DK Thumbscrew, new Armature Bar, and updated Stroke Wheel for improved performance
• The renowned rotary liner.  Effortlessly sink any size line by just grazing the skin.
• The motor is the same as the V2-V4 and V7 Sidewinder, which has proven the test of time.  It has been a favorite of the long time Sidewinder collectors.
• Vice-Lock that easily tightens on nearly any tube
• Great for all varieties of Line Work or as a Fast Shader/Packer

• Timing mark on the cam and frame for setting the impact screw. (Just like the V5 and V6)

• Marked stroke dial so you can easily play with the stroke without fear of losing that sweet spot. There are three lines on the stroke wheel…shortest line is for shortest stroke / smaller groupings, the 3/4 line is middle of the road for medium stroke / medium to large groupings, full line is long stroke for large grouping work. You can’t make it too long or too short, play with it and find the right setting for the work you are doing.

Machine Setup:

• Standard Needle on Bar:
  • Needle Bar Tensioner - when setting up your needle and tube, position needle tensioner in desired position depending on the amount of tension you want to add to the needle bar. Adjust position by loosening the thumbscrew and then tightening when you reach desired tension.
  • Rubber Band alternative setup - Loosen / remove thumbscrew to take the needle tensioner off. Then when setting up the machine, wrap a thick rubber band around the motor cap and across the front of the machine to add needle bar tension. It is recommended that you use Thick Rubber Bands and Dan's Perfect Nipples.
• Cartridges: wrap a rubber band around the motor cap and over the top of the armature bar to counteract the cartridge's upward tension. Thick or standard rubber bands both work, it will just depend on the tension of the cartridge membrane or band to determine with rubber band provides the proper counter resistance.

Description:

The most significant update to the V3/24 Sidewinder is the added (and optional) Needle Bar Tensioner. This added tensioner eliminates the need to use a Rubber Band, improving all around machine performance and results. Tensioner reduces spitting and increases power. These machines can be used with or without the Tensioner, it is detached by simply removing the thumbscrew and taking it off the machine.

Aside from the added Needle Bar Tensioner, this new version of remastered V3 Sidewinder is dialed in and updated with various improvements to increase machine longevity and consistency.

The V3/24 follows the same concept as the past V3r, but with a focus on what makes a Sidewinder a Sidewinder.  Hard hitting, effortless, and zippy.  -Intended for experienced artists who don’t want to mess around.

A few words From Seth about this machine:
"Woooooo damn these little dudes hit HARD. Weighing a mere 5.3 oz and CNC cut from a solid block of aluminum, they’re built to push the big stuff, from 7 on up. The common shortcomings of aluminum frames have been eliminated, with a steel insert at the clipcord connection, and beefy side plate with nice smooth radii where it meets the base and spring shelf, making this frame just as stiff as iron. 8 layer shorty coils stay nice and cool while pushing those baggy 18 liners all damn day. The guillotine style vise with hold any tube, steel or plastic."

Dan Kubin Custom High-End Bearings

These are the same bearings Dan uses on most all of his machines. Pivot bearings come in a paired set as it is best to replace both at the same time. Cam bearings are individual and easy to swap out if needed.

Workhorse Irons x Sidnaw Company Tattoo Machine Tool Roll!

After many years of discussion, some back and forth, and a few prototypes, our Tattoo Machine Tool Roll is here, and we couldn't be happier with the way they turned out!

Made locally by our friends at Sidnaw Company (formerly Mercy Supply), these Tool Rolls are made for use with the tools most artists use to maintain their tattoo machines. Designed for organization, versatility, and built for durability. Inside there are multiple slots and a large, gusseted pocket with an internal zippered front, plus two smaller button pockets for small parts and hardware. The body is made with 20oz waxed canvas.

Specs:

• Dimensions when closed: 11 x 6.5 x 2in
• 20oz USA 100% Cotton Waxed Canvas
• USA Harness Leather
• Steel Buckles
• Hand Hammered Copper Rivets
• USA YKK Zipper

Available With or Without Tools - if ordered with Tools the roll includes the following:

• Armature Bar Fixture
• Alignment Tool

• Hex and Torx Key Set (9/64 Allen Key, 5/64 Allen Key, T25 Torx Key, T20 Torx Key, T15 Torx Key)

Care:

• Our waxed canvas is simply a duck canvas with wax-impregnated cotton yarns. This results in a fabric that’s as strong as duck canvas with an added layer of protection against water, wind and agitation.

Waxed canvas bags and garments can be used for months (even years) without requiring care. When caring for waxed canvas, avoid machine washing and submerging in water. Spot cleaning or hosing off the product is recommended. Hang dry only. Re-wax after prolonged use with an all-natural fabric wax to maintain weather resistance.

Traditional tube performance with a more environmentally conscious approach.

Developed in collaboration with Good Judy, these ECO Gripless Tubes are manufactured from compostable PLA, PBS, and mineral-based bioplastic and designed for use with reusable locking tattoo grips.

By separating the tube from the grip, artists can dramatically reduce waste while maintaining the feel, control, and precision of traditional tube and needle-on-bar tattooing. The system provides a familiar setup with the convenience of quick tube changes and reduced material waste.

• Compostable PLA, PBS, and mineral-based bioplastic construction

• Designed for use with locking tattoo grips

• 20 Tubes Per Box

• Lightweight and precise

• Excellent needle stability and visibility

• Compatible with standard needle-on-bar setups

• Made in collaboration with Good Judy

Available Configurations

• Rounds

• Angled Rounds

Usage Information

For use with reusable locking grips.

Most artists will use a machine bag, pen cover, or barrier film over the grip, then apply grip wrap or cohesive bandage for comfort and control.

After use, reusable grips can be autoclaved, cold sterilized, or disinfected according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Tubes should be disposed of according to local regulations for tattoo waste. Industrial composting may be available in some municipalities, though acceptance of biohazard-related waste varies by location.

Why This System?

Developed with performance as the priority, these tubes were created to provide the stability, visibility, and control artists expect from traditional disposable tubes while reducing material waste.

When paired with reusable metal grips, the system eliminates traditional disposable plastic tube and grip waste while preserving the workflow many artists prefer.
