Some words from Bowers on why he made these clip cords:
"A couple years ago I designed this clip cord and built one for myself. The design came from being frustrated with the options that were on the market. When I designed these clip cords I had a list of demands. -This cord HAD to be repairable, quickly and easily. -lightweight -no-stick, flexible cord -brass or copper leads Every part of the the clip cord end can be replaced or repaired quickly and easily. Even comes with the parts and tools to do it! You will not be left struggling with a short in your cord, no backup and rummaging around looking for your best broken cord to finish or do the tattoo. The cord is a matte non stick material that glides smoothly along surfaces, it is NOT a 5 lb clip cord you’re hooking up to 3 oz. machine, the brass leads will not groove your binding posts nearly as fast as the standard steel leads found on most clip cords. I’m excited about this new product and to able to finally share it with all of you."

Dan Kubin Sidewinder 46er - FEATHERWEIGHT Sand x Black Aluminum RCA + Clip Cord
Regular price$1,020.00 USD
Dan Kubin's Newest Sidewinder, the V46er with RCA + Clip Cord!
The 46er is a culmination of my versions 4-6 Sidewinders, remastered and enhanced to perfection. This machine features a very large stroke adjustment range that can suite single needle work, all the way up to the largest liners and mag shaders.
This machine is very strong off the tip with a great follow-through. It's number one purpose is as a strong, precise, off the tip liner; though It has proven to be much more capable.
Features include:
Wider springs for more durability.
Large, easy to turn, hardened steel stroke wheel. Pre-set stroke range and middle timing mark to prevent the machine from getting too far out of tune when experimenting.
Hardened alloy steel impact pin. Positioned towards the rear of the frame to help with noise
Large cam with precise timing mark. Allows for easier, and more precise impact alignment checks
Smooth, easy clamping tube vice.
Forward weight distribution for better ergonomics.
Beautiful brass armature bar, perfectly balanced for a strong, confident, and consistent hit.
O-ring groove in the bar allows for a more silent option (though will reduce performance as well)
Reliable Mabuchi motor. -because they run forever without losing consistency.
Weight:
Standard (brass frame construction): 6oz
Featherweight (7075 aluminum frame): 4.4 oz
This Featherweight model has about the perfect amount of mass, where it is light and agile, but not so light that it wants to jump out of your hand or feel shakey. (4.4 oz -about 1 oz heavier than other Featherweights, and 1.5 oz lighter than the normal brass machines.)
Recommended voltage range: 4 - 6.5 volts
Approximate stroke range: 2 - 4mm (keep in mind the stoke goes up more due to the springs. The stroke of a Sidewinder cannot be compared to other rotaries as the hit is completely different)
RCA Specifications:
RCA version is wired for the harder hit mode only using RCA connection
This RCA motor housing was designed around a Critical Universal battery pack, but fits with most battery packs I have tried, such as Musotoku, Ink Claw, and Papa.
This will also work good with a right-angle RCA cord.
Clip Cord option still works, it is just wired backwards (Positive Down for Harder Hit)
The position of the battery makes the machine’s balance point much more forward, like a pen.
NEW RCA / Clipcord version with straight up battery position
